The set is numbered to 128. There are 30 secret rares above that number (129 to 158) and three special RGB Rare Mew cards (catalogued as B, G and R), making 161 in all. Card numbers 023 to 052 are the 30 Pikachu Rare cards. Separately, a Classic Collection of 30 reprints from Base Set to the present day, each with a gold border, turns up as rare pulls.

  • Pack format: 5 foil cards (one is always one of the 30 Pikachu), 1 foil Basic Energy and 1 Pokémon TCG Live code card.
  • New rarities: Futuristic Rare (Mewtwo ex and Mew ex) and RGB Rare (three Mew cards), both illustrated by the artist YOSHIROTTEN.
  • Day and night theme: many cards and products come in daytime and night-time pairs, such as the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex products.

Is there a 30th Celebration booster box?

No. Packs are only sold inside other products. The most packs come in the Ultra-Premium Collections (29 packs plus a Classic Collection pack), then the Elite Trainer Boxes (9 or 11) and the Ditto Premium Collection (8). The Booster Bundle (6 packs, nothing else) is the simplest way to buy packs. Our guide to Pokémon TCG product types explains how these boxes compare.

30th Celebration chase cards

The top cards are the two Futuristic Rares (Mewtwo ex and Mew ex) and the three RGB Rare Mews, followed by ten Special Illustration Rares. Many collectors also build all 30 Pikachu as a sub-set of their own. See Pokémon card rarities explained for what each rarity symbol means.

Which product suits you?

  1. 1.

    Opening for fun

The 2-Pack Blister, Knock Out Collection and Mini Tins are small, gift-friendly ways to open a couple of packs.

  2. 2.

    Most packs per box

The Ultra-Premium Collections are the largest. The Booster Bundle (6 packs) gives packs without extras.

  3. 3.

    Collecting the Pikachu

Every pack has one of 30 Pikachu, so opening is the natural way to build that sub-set. Swap or buy singles for the last few, and sell us your duplicates.

  4. 4.

    Keeping it sealed

Anniversary products are popular display pieces. Keep them cool, dry and out of sunlight; our card storage guide covers the basics. We give no investment advice or price predictions.
