PSA Grading from the UK: How to Submit (2026)

Published · Updated · 8 min read · Checked against 19 dated sources

On 16 October 2026 PSA had no open UK office: its announced Greater London receiving centre had no published address or opening date. UK collectors either use a group-submission dealer listed in PSA's dealer directory or post cards to PSA in the US themselves. PSA prices in US dollars; the cheapest open tier was Standard at $59.99 a card (90–100 business days), and returning slabs can attract import VAT and a carrier fee.

Does PSA have a UK office?

Not yet. PSA has announced a dedicated UK Receiving Center in the Greater London area for the second half of 2026, with prices in pounds and slabs returned through the UK centre to avoid customs. We could find no address, opening date or price list for it on 16 October 2026, so treat it as not open.

PSA's announcement says collectors will post cards to the London centre by ordinary domestic post, the cards will be graded and come back to the UK centre for final delivery, and the aim is to remove customs checks, duties and international shipping. It also said PSA would hire about 20 people in the UK.

What happened to "PSA UK"?

Older forum posts call a UK submission service "PSA UK". PSA's customer communications from early 2023 say it ended its relationship with that dealer, Ludkins Collectables, which was no longer an authorised PSA dealer or allowed to use the name "PSA UK", and that PSA took legal possession of the cards submitted through it on 1 January 2023 to return them to their owners. If you see "PSA UK" used today, check who is actually behind it.

Can I use PSA's Frankfurt facility from the UK?

Probably not directly. PSA's announcement of its Frankfurt grading facility described it as accepting submissions from authorised dealers and partners in continental Europe and Ireland, and PSA opened direct submissions there on 15 September 2026. None of the PSA material we found mentions the UK, and a parcel to the EU and back would face customs both ways.

How much does PSA grading cost from the UK?

PSA charges per card in US dollars, so the pound cost moves with the exchange rate, and your card may add a currency fee. On 16 October 2026 the cheapest open tier was Standard at $59.99 with a $1,000 maximum insured value. The cheaper Value tiers were paused. Add postage both ways and any import charges.

  • PSA launched the Standard tier and renamed Regular to Priority and Walk-Through to Premier from 14 September 2026. Independent reports say Express rose from $149 to $199 a card around the same time.
  • One independent report lists Priority at $79 rather than $79.99. PSA's own pricing page showed $79.99.
  • Independent reports say the Value tiers have been paused since June 2026; PSA had not given a date for their return.
  • Upcharges: if PSA decides after grading that a card is worth more than its tier's maximum insured value, it moves that card up a tier and charges the difference. Its terms let it charge your card up to $500 (or a lower amount shown at checkout) without asking again.

How long does PSA grading take from the UK?

PSA quoted 90–100 business days for Standard and 70–80 for Priority on 16 October 2026, counted from when PSA logs your order, not from when you post it. Add postage time each way (and customs on the return), and expect a Standard submission from the UK to take five months or more door to door.

PSA's turnaround estimates are estimates, not guarantees. Independent backlog trackers have reported real times running longer than PSA's figures during 2026, and OTIA reported that Standard orders are processed after Value and Bulk orders already in PSA's system. A group-submission dealer adds its own collection and batching time.

Route 1: a UK group-submission dealer

This is the simplest route for most UK collectors. You hand or post your cards to a UK dealer, they combine them with other customers' cards into one PSA order, and the slabs come back through them. You deal in pounds and pay UK postage, but you pay the dealer's price rather than PSA's list price.

PSA says all registered group submitters have signed its dealer agreement and committed to its Customer Bill of Rights, and it keeps a directory of verified group submitters. One UK example in that directory is Fanatics Collectibles London, 54 Regent Street, London W1B 4DY, which lists "Group Submissions" among its services. PSA advises speaking to several dealers to find the right fit.

  1. 1.

    Check the dealer is listed

Search PSA's dealer directory, filtered to the United Kingdom and group submissions. A business that only says it is a PSA partner on its own website is not proof.

  2. 2.

    Ask for the full price

Ask what the per-card price includes: PSA's fee, outbound and return shipping, insurance, any import VAT or carrier fees on the way back, and what happens if PSA upcharges a card.

  3. 3.

    Ask about timing

Ask how often they send orders to PSA and which PSA tier they use. A dealer waiting to fill a batch adds time before PSA's clock starts.

  4. 4.

    Record everything

Photograph every card front and back, keep a list with your declared values and get a written receipt before you hand anything over.

Route 2: submit direct to PSA in the US

You can post cards straight to PSA from the UK. You need a PSA account, you fill in the order online and pay in dollars, and you arrange and insure the outbound parcel yourself. PSA says it uses USPS or FedEx for shipments, that international orders face international rates and longer times, and that you are responsible for any duties or taxes.

  1. 1.

Create a PSA account and order

Choose the tier for each card from its declared value, and enter cards in the order you will pack them.

  2. 2.

    Prepare the cards

Each card in a clear penny sleeve, then a semi-rigid card holder measuring 3 5/16" x 4 7/8". PSA says not to use toploaders, tape, pull tabs or sticky notes.

  3. 3.

    Pack and insure

Sandwich the stack between card, fill the box so nothing moves and print the packing slip. PSA does not insure parcels on their way to it, so buy cover from your carrier or an insurer. Our postage guide covers what UK services pay out.

  4. 4.

    Pay return shipping

PSA charges return shipping to the UK when your order is complete. The returning parcel is an import into the UK.

Will I pay import VAT when PSA slabs come back?

Possibly. Slabs returning from the US are an import. GOV.UK says that for goods over £135 you pay VAT to the delivery company before delivery or on collection, and Customs Duty can apply. The carrier sends a bill and normally holds the parcel for about three weeks before returning it to the sender.

  • Royal Mail adds a handling fee of £8 to customs charges (Parcelforce £12), and £25 where goods valued over £900 need a full customs declaration. Couriers set their own fees.
  • HMRC's outward processing relief can reduce the charge on goods sent abroad for processing or repair: VAT is then charged on the repair costs plus freight and duty, not the full value. It needs an authorisation number on both the export and import declarations.
  • We have not found HMRC guidance saying that grading counts as processing or repair for this relief. Ask your dealer, or PSA, how the return will be declared and who pays any charges before you post high-value cards.

Should I use PSA or a UK grader?

PSA is the label most buyers recognise, but from the UK it is slower and dearer than the UK-based options and involves the US. ACE charges in pounds from £18 a card with no customs, and CGC's London office from £14 + VAT with a 25-card minimum. Our PSA vs CGC vs BGS vs ACE comparison sets them side by side.

Before paying for any grader, check the card is worth it with our grading checklist, and read what PSA 10, 9 and 8 mean. If you would rather sell a card than grade it, see sell your cards. Graded cards we have in stock are on our graded page.
