Pitch Black is the fifth Mega Evolution main set, fronted by Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex. It came out worldwide, UK included, on 17 July 2026 and has 120 cards (84 plus 36 secret rares). There is a 36-pack booster box, and the top card is the Mega Hyper Rare Mega Darkrai ex 120/084.

Pitch Black UK release date

Pitch Black launched worldwide, UK included, on 17 July 2026. Build & Battle Boxes came first, at prerelease events in participating stores on the weekends of 4–5 and 11–12 July. Later sets are on our release calendar.

What is in the set

Pitch Black has six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, led by Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex, with Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Excadrill ex, Mega Delphox ex and Mega Slowbro ex alongside. It is the first main set based on the Mega Dimension add-on for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. There are also 4 Pokémon ex and more than 20 Trainer cards. Pitch Black booster box, ETB and other products

Each booster pack holds 10 cards, a Basic Energy and a TCG Live code card. The line-up has 36-pack and 18-pack booster displays, Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles, blisters and Build & Battle Boxes; UK specialist shops such as Magic Madhouse listed the 36-pack booster box. A Target checklane blister was a US exclusive. The Elite Trainer Box comes with a full-art foil Zarude promo. Product names are explained in Pokémon TCG product types explained.

Pitch Black chase cards

Mega Darkrai ex appears as both a Special Illustration Rare and the only Mega Hyper Rare. Three of the six Special Illustration Rares are Megas; the rest are Morpeko ex and two Supporters.
