1 Phantasmal Flames card or product in stock, each photographed front and back as sold and posted from the UK. Release dates, products and chase cards are in our Phantasmal Flames guide below the stock.
Phantasmal Flames is the second Mega Evolution expansion and the one that brought Mega Charizard X ex to the card game. It came out worldwide, UK included, on 14 November 2025 and has 130 cards (94 plus 36 secret rares). The rarest card is the Mega Hyper Rare Mega Charizard X ex 130/094.
Phantasmal Flames launched worldwide on 14 November 2025, so the UK got it on the same day as North America. Because the first Mega Evolution set had been delayed in Europe from 26 September to 10 October 2025, UK players had only about five weeks between the two sets. Build & Battle Boxes were played at prerelease events on the weekends of 1–2 and 8–9 November. Later sets are on our release calendar.
Six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex lead the set, with Mega Charizard X ex the obvious headline. Mega Gengar ex, Mega Heracross ex, Mega Lopunny ex, Mega Sharpedo ex and Mega Diancie ex join it, along with four Pokémon ex such as Rotom ex. Fire and Darkness types dominate. The full English list runs to 130 cards; our rarities guide explains the symbols.
| Part of the set | Cards |
|---|---|
| Main set (numbered up to 94) | 94 |
| Illustration Rares | 13 |
| Ultra Rares (Mega ex, Trainers and Energy) | 17 |
| Special Illustration Rares | 5 |
| Mega Hyper Rare | 1 |
| Total including secret rares | 130 |
The line-up follows the usual main-set pattern: booster packs (10 cards each), an Elite Trainer Box, a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, Booster Bundles, blisters, Build & Battle Boxes and 36-pack and 18-pack booster displays. In the UK the set was sold through Pokémon Center UK and high-street retailers including GAME and Smyths Toys. New to the product names? See Pokémon TCG product types explained.
Phantasmal Flames has a short top tier: five Special Illustration Rares and a single Mega Hyper Rare. Mega Charizard X ex appears at both levels, so Charizard collectors are after two cards here.
Opening for fun
Single packs, a 3-pack blister or a Booster Bundle (6 packs) are the low-commitment way in.
Starting to play
The Elite Trainer Box pairs 9 packs with sleeves, Energy cards and dice; the Build & Battle Box is a ready-to-play 40-card deck plus 4 packs.
Completing the set
With 130 cards and only six cards above Illustration Rare, the master set is manageable. Buying the last few singles is usually easier than chasing them in packs, and you can sell us your duplicates.
Keeping it sealed
Store sealed boxes cool, dry and away from sunlight (see our storage guide). We give no investment advice or price predictions. Browse our sealed range.
